Goodbye Slideshows...Hello Animoto

I chose to blog about Animoto. You supply the pictures and music and Animoto turns them into a movie. First, you upload your pictures or video clips. Next you upload your own music, or choose from their collection of tunes. If you want, you can also add text. They then customize the video and/or pictures to fit your music. You can then post the video to a site, or download it.



I like the fact that this whole process takes only a few minutes and is very easy to use. If you are unhappy with your video, you can run it through again, and they will make a completely new video. No two videos are ever alike. You don’t however; have ultimate control over the finished product. Some people might want to customize their video more.





This would be a wonderful tool for teachers, as well as students. Students do not need to possess editing skills to make a great video with this tool. Registering as a teacher allows you to make videos longer than 30 seconds for free. Teachers may also manage their students’ usernames and passwords.



I think this is a wonderful tool to let students easily display research they may have done on a certain subject. Also, teachers can quickly come up with a video for students, on a topic of their choosing, without putting in hours worth of work synchronizing the pictures and music, and effects, etc. I will definitely be using this tool in my classroom.
