IXL MATH- "The Web's #1 Math Practice Site"

What is it? It's a great technology based-learning website for kids ages 5 and up. Set up by standards and subject, this website is easy to navigate by our students, and is very helpful at exposing and practicing math standards.

How can it be used? It can be used in many ways in whole group or independently by students. It can be used to introduce or to practice many different math skills interactiveley.

Who is the audience? This website has a very wide range for an audience from Pre-K to Fifth grade students. At every level of math skills, there is an option to go back to the previous level for review or forward for a more challenging practice.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of this tool? The advantages of this online tool is that all the math skills for all levels are available at one place with just a click of a button. It is convenient and user-friendly for all the ages that the site appeals to. Disadvantages of this online tool is that any student on a lower level, or any student not on their grade-level may be discouraged. All skills are divided into appropriate labels for the grade level. A student in fourth grade that is struggling with math may have to click on the third grade icon for help, and this could be a draw-back for some students.

What is your opinion on the usefulness of this tool? In my opinion, this online resource tool is very helpful. It has something for everyone, and is a standard base education site. I hope you will enjoy it too.
