Alan Walker is a very special young man. Not only does he have a big heart, but in his arm is a powerful source of power known as "Innocence" that has the ability to destroy the demons, called Akuma, that the Millennium Earl has created to destroy mankind. Akuma's are dead souls brought back to life by grieving loved ones that are trapped in vessels controlled by the Earl. The only way to free the imprisoned souls is with the Innocence wield by warriors knows as "Exorcists."
In order to combat these demons, Alan becomes an exorcist for an organization called "the Black Order." The exorcists not only have the power to destroy Akuma, but the generals are the most powerful of all exorcists and the Earl's biggest threat. However, the Earl has called upon the Noah family to destroy the generals since they are immune to Innocence and, unfortunately, the Noah's have unleashed their power amongst the order and generals are being slaughtered left and right--except for General Cross, who is Alan's mentor and a scoundral.
As part of the order, Alan is joined by his comrades (LennaLee, Lavi, Bookman,Aristar, and Kanda) who not only possess their own Innocence, but they all share one thing: tragedy. They may not all get along, but they are willing to sacrifice each other to make share the Millenium Earl does not steal their soul. In this story is an epic battle between good and evil and where the gray line between both of them lies. Alan maybe the hero of this story, but his past is a lot darker then we think especially when the organization learns that Alan is not only connected with the Earl, but the Noah's as well.
