The tool that I have decided to blog about is Google Maps and how it can be used in the classroom. This tool can be used in many ways, it can be used to take a tour around a city that you are learning about in a class or the place you are reading about in a book. It can also be a tool for teaching students how to follow directions and creating directions. This tool is good for showing students landmarks around the world and different areas that they would have never had the chance to see before. Students can create (or teachers can create) personalized maps to use within the classroom also. These can include directions from their house to school or where they would like to travel in the future.
There are many advantages with using this tool. The advantages of this tool are that you can take your students all around the world. You can teach them about their city or state or country. They can see different things that they pass everyday. They can also experience different areas of the country or world and use it to compare and contrast landforms and things of that nature. Some disadvantages are that it does take some getting used to and playing around to understand all of the different ways that you can use this tool in the classroom and it does take some practice to get the full benefits of the tool. It can be time consuming to learn for some but in all it is very beneficial to take the time to figure it out!
I believe that this tool could be used in every classroom. I think any age group would find this program interesting. Especially since you can go all around the world and see so many different things with this tool. I feel like using this tool expands the view of what students can experience because it is more than just looking at a map or pictures in a book. It is an interactive way to learn. And its exciting to explore what you can see.

I feel like this tool could be very useful within the classroom if an educator is willing to learn about all of the things that you can do with this tool. I feel like it is something that could be used with all age groups and in any classroom whether there are fifteen computers or just one. I think that this is a very interactive tool that lets students create and explore new and exciting things.
