What is a Franklin Student Dictionary?
Franklin student Dictionaries are small handheld dictionaries that would be great for students in grades k through 5. The dictionaries check the spelling of words, give the definition, and also talk. The dictionaries also say the word out loud as the letter is pushed.

How can a Franklin Student Dictionary be used?
These dictionaries can be used in multiple ways. One way they can be used is to assist students in spelling words correctly. Also, if a student is having trouble reading a word, they can type the word into the dictionary. The dictionary will then say the word out loud for the student. The dictionaries also give the definition of unfamiliar words. Also, some of the Franklin Student Dictionaries have an on screen handwriting guide; this is where the dictionary actually shows students how to write the word in cursive.

What is my opinion of the Franklin Student Dictionaries?
I think that these dictionaries would be a great tool to use in the classroom. I think that these would be very useful in a classroom, especially when differentiating instruction. These tools will be useful in teaching students letter recognition, through spelling the words, and even know the definitions of those words.
