Zoho.com is a website that allows users to create an account and utilize a many of the website’s features. It is similar to Google Docs in that it allows users to make and use word documents, presentations, spreadsheets and other documents that are compatible with industry leading versions (i.e. Microsoft Office or Adobe).
The thing that I instantly liked about Zoho is that, like Blogger, accounts can be made with Google accounts. This allows students to use these tools without having to have it at home. This helps bridges the technology gap. I have noticed that there is a clear learning curve in using the website. Some of the elements to the website, I couldn’t figure out. I don’t think that I’ve figured out how to use it to its fullest.
The project claims that it is a “social” system because they have options that allow for one to share and collaborate work. More information about this can be found on their projects page. The website also makes claim that one can do anything they can do on a desktop, online. It’s close. In searching reviews of the website, many have noted its speed. Zoho.com has a clear application to a 6-12 classroom.
