What is the tool?
The tool that I chose is a website called discovery education. It offers a vaiety of resources for teachers and parents alike.
How can it be used?
It can be used for looking up lesson plans for many subjects and all grades, and it offers a variety of curricular resources such as Discovery Education Streaming Plus, Discovery Education Science, Discovery Education Health, PowerPlusMedia, and more. It also gives teachers assessments as a way to prepare their students for high-stake exams. It also offers a place where parents and their children can go and get extra help on what they may be learning in school. It offers several vidoes that help explain tough subjects that students may be having trouble on. The website also offers professional development programs/resources as well.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of this tool?
The only disadvantage that I can think of is that you have to subcribe to the website in order to get access to the curriculum resources, which could not be free. Other than that, I thought the wesite was great!
Some advantages of discovery education is that anyone can go onto the website and look up lesson plans for any subject or grade. Also, it offers all videos for free and has a certain place for kids to go and learn new things and take a look at different adventures that people have been on.

I think it is a great place for learning and a great website to pull useful classroom instruction from. It is a very well layed out website as well. It gives teachers so many resources to make teaching worth while.
