Kidspiration is a visual learning tool for grades K-5. Kidspiration helps students organize information and connect information between different things. It also helps the students express and share their thoughts.
There are two modes in Kidspiration: they are visual mode and written mode. The students can go from their visual representation of their work to a written description of their work. The changes that the students make on the visual mode automaticaly changes over to the written mode. There is also an audio mode where the younger students can hear their written work read to them.
With this program there is about 1200 clipart to choose from and built in cross curricular activities. Students also have a print and save option which is great for the classroom so the students can continue their work on different days.
You can learn more about this program at Technology tools for teachers and at Kidspiration. At the kidspiration website you can download a free 30 day trial.
I think this tool is very useful in the classroom because you can use it for any subject and it can be used independently because the design is so easy for young students to use.
