Portfolios reflect upon the work that a student has accumulated threw out a duration of time and show how they have progressed. However what about all the work that students do including technology that they do not have a printed example of. How do they share their accomplishments and progress in these fields? An electronic journal will help make a collection of not just papers, but also includes the use of technology such as CD's, DVD's, and the internet of course. With an electronic journal students also have more options on how they will present their material. For example, text is a given but they may also use audio, video, and graphics with an electronic journal.
