Graphic Organizers



What is the tool? Graphic Organizers!!

How can it be used? These can be used to kick off student's ideas in the brainstorming section of the writing process. Also some of the charts available allow the teacher to write out what the students should retain from the lesson. (KWL chart)

What are advantages/disadvantages? Some advantages that I have found are that this site offers many FREE graphic organizers to choose from. Some included are KWL charts, web diagrams, and flow charts. These can be used in many subjects not just English. This website is also available in Spanish. I find that to be an advantage because there are many Spanish speaking students in the school systems. A disadvantage however is the fact that the files are PDF and take a little manuevering to open.

Who is the audience? This tool's audience includes teachers as well as students.

Opinion: In my opinion, this tool is very useful despite the little bump in the road one must roll over to successfully download whichever graphic organizer chosen. I have used this website in my field placement and it really is a great way to organize information before the students begin an assignment
