
What is the tool? A WebQuest is an inquiry based lesson that includes a variety of activities that are mostly web based. WebQuest include an introduction, task, process, evaluation, conclusion, and teacher page. The task tells the learner what they should be doing. The process is step by step directions on what to do. It would include all the activities and websites needs to complete the WebQuest. The evaluation portion explains how the student will receive their grade, this is often in the form of a rubric.
How can it be used?
WebQuest can be used for any subject. It often includes interactive website that help enhance student learning.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of this tool?
Some advantages of WebQuest are that students are able to work on their own pace without worrying about keeping up with their classmates. Students are also in charge of their own learning. It also gives students the opportunity to interact with technology. A disadvantage is that in order for students to work on a WebQuest they would either work on in at home or the teacher will have to get a computer lab for the class.
Who is the audience for this tool?
WebQuest can be used for most students, depending on how the WebQuest is made; it could be useful for student elementary and up.

I believe WebQuest are great tools that challenge students to come up with their own answers versus being told. It also helps student become more familiar with computers and using the internet.
