What is the tool?
PBS Teachers is a website for teachers to interact with each other and further their knowledge on teaching. It allows them to discover new and effective ways to teach and incorporate technology in their teaching methods.
How can it be used?
This website allows you to become a member in order to speak with other teachers and have all the advantages of the website. It allows a teacher to pick a specific grade level and subject that you are interested in. After picking the grade level and subject, it provides blogs, articles, resources, and professional development regarding your topic of choice. A teacher can also blog and read and respond to other blogs posted from other fellow teachers.
What are the advantages?
One major advantage of this tool is that you are allowed to interact with fellow teachers from across the world allowing you to ask questions, comment, and share ideas on new and effective ways to teach a classroom. Another major advantage to this website is that everything is absolutely free. The third advantage is that this website provides articles to further the teacher's knowledge on events and changes being made in the classroom. The last advantage is that PBS is already known for educational purposes which means that several people with already be involved allowing you to interact with more people.
What are the disadvantages?
A disadvantage to this website is that if you are not already familiar with technology, then you might have a hard time getting the full advantages to this website. For example, if you have never blogged before, you will not know how to use the blogging tool to interact with the other teachers. Another disadvantage to this website is that it is in fact a website which means you cannot access it if you are having computer or internet problems.
Who is the audience?
The audience includes teachers, future teachers, and other professionals who are interested in the education world. Since it deals mostly with teachers who are interested in incorporating technology in their lesson plans, the audience also consists of those who are attracted to technology in the classrooms.

My opinion on the usefulness of this tool?
I like this tool for the simple fact that you can have an actual conversation with fellow educators. It is not a website that just provides information, but you can have actual teachers who you can speak with whether through blog or email. I think this tool is also useful because it speaks on incorporating technology in the classroom while providing the advantages and disadvantages of it, as well as others who have used it in their lesson plans.
