Rihanna Has Other Priority Than Coming to 2010 MTV VMAs

Speaking from the set of 'Battleship', the 'Rude Boy' singer admits she actually wishes she can accompany Eminem to perform 'Love the Way You Lie' at this year's Video Music Awards.

Rihanna has explained the reason why she could not take part in the festivity of 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. In a recent interview, the 22-year-old Barbadian beauty admitted that she actually wants to join Eminem in performing "Love the Way You Lie", but has something more important to do than making an appearance at the Sunday, September 12 ceremony.

Met on the set of her upcoming action movie "Battleship", the "Rude Boy" singer told ET's Mark Steines, "I definitely wish I could be there for Eminem. He's performing the song we did together. It would have been nice to do it." She continued to share that her collaborator understands her situation, and stressed, "Obviously, right now, I'm doing something that's a priority to me."

Though admitting that she would love to join Eminem to open the annual awards show, the "Russian Roulette" hitmaker asserted she won't regret her decision in skipping the performance. "We don't have to go to the VMAs this year, the VMAs will be there next year," she reasoned. "We'll have a lot more music out by then."

Rihanna also took the opportunity to talk about her next album "Loud", which will be in stores on November 16. "The name of the album definitely reflects the attitude of it," she said, before adding, "It's really sassy and flirty and really grabs your attention, and that's why I enjoy it, because it takes you through a really interesting ride. So colorful, the album."
