Created over fifteen years ago, the Smart Board has successfully made its way into schools all over the world. The Smart Board is an interactive hardware tool. This tool has the ability to project the contents that appear on a computer screen; then, the Smart Board allows users to interact with the contents that appear on the screen. With touch recognition, a pen tray, digital ink, and save function, the Smart Board proves itself to be a useful piece of technology.
The touch system enables a person to use their finger to write, erase, and press buttons. Because of the touch recognition, other hand tools can be used as well. The pen tray contains four pens (red, black, green, and blue) and an eraser. This tray can automatically detect which tool a person has in their hand. The digital ink gives a person the ability to write over any content that appears on the screen, and the save function allows you to save anything that you have written on the Smart Board. Users can also edit their saved work.
The Smart Board can be used by teachers to engage their students and make their lessons more interactive. Teachers can use Smart Boards to display information from the internet, write notes, play videos, and play games as a class. On the SMART Technology website, it provides teachers with Smart Board lesson plans and activities. They even have activities that are standard-based! Students will also love the Smart Board. They will love being able to participate in class using this wonderful tool.
The Smart Board is a great addition to any classroom. They are easy to use, and there are many ways to use the Smart Board. The only disadvantage to the Smart Board is the cost. Smart Boards are costly, and the projector bulbs are also expensive to replace.
To me, the Smart Board is one of the most useful tools to have in the classroom. I have used it on many occasions. Each time, I seem to enjoy this tool more and more. I love that the Smart Board can be used to enhance any lesson. There are many activities and uses for the Smart Board. The possiblilities are endless! I would definitely reccomend this tool to others.
