The CPS (classroom performance system) tool is great for teachers, especially in the older grades, though it can be used with younger grades as well. It is just like the iClickers used on campus. It can be used for many things, including taking attendance, taking quizzes, lunch choices, etc. It is a hand-held device that students would each have. The devices have radio frequencies that send the information inputted on the device to the teacher's computer on a CPS website.
The teacher can give classroom polls, quizzes, and even take attendance by having students input their answer using the device, which contains letters and numbers. For example: in younger grades, teachers can use this to take lunch choices, which will in turn show the teacher who is there or not, helping her to take attendance. Choice A could be listed, as well as choice B, and students would click A or B on their clicker.
This tool is great for scoring tests and quizzes and can easily be made to where students cannot cheat, though some students may not like having to answer questions with a clicker. Students may worry that they have clicked too many times and cannot go back to change their answer, though it can be set up to where they can change it. Some students just are not good with technology and may have trouble understanding what to do with the clicker.
This tool can be used with younger children to make simple choices such as lunch choices, as well as taking attendance, and can even help them learn about voting and polls by using it to vote and showing percentages and bar graphs. With older children, quizzes and tests can be given.

This tool is a great resource for teachers because it not only saves teachers time in the morning to take attendance and lunch choices for example, but it also is convenient.
