MathTV.com is a new company that produces instructional math help videos. We leverage Internet technology to bring affordable video lessons to high school and college math students. MathTV.com should mostly be used at home by students when they need extra help doing homework. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it being used in the classroom by a teacher because then, in my opinion, it would make him/her look incompetent.
Some advantages of MathTV.com are instant access to watching all the math videos showing how problems are solved with a clear explanation. Each math subject contains more than 50 videos covering all the important concepts. MathTV.com is an excellent home-school resource and is cheaper than instructional videos. It is also better than hiring a private tutor since the student will not take the time to plan to meet up with the tutor. I feel there is only one disadvantage to this tool and that would be how not all students have the internet or a computer at home so they won’t be able to get the extra help.
I find this site absolutely wonderful and easy for students to operate. It is very helpful for students with their homework since it covers most of the math concepts taught in high school. I will highly recommend this to my students as help when they are at home attempting their work.
