What if there was a way that Speech-Language Pathologist could give their clients a fun way to practice trouble sounds at home daily? What if children could do it independently? Now there is! Say-N-Play is a fun interactive way for children ages four to nine to practice words containing the sounds they have trouble pronouncing. It provides them with an appealing environment consisting of different game boards that is sure to keep them practicing day after day. Speech recognition software is combined with articulation drills to help them master sounds in any position of words. Once children master the sound at one level, this PC game allows them to advance to other levels and continues to challenge them with articulation drills. Parents love it because children want to play it and the animated characters keep the children engaged so they can learn.

Say-N-Play was created to give children a fun way to participate in articulation drills at home and in the clinic. This is the perfect tool for SLP’s to use when they are having trouble getting their clients to practice their sounds everyday. It gives children two different modes of play: lesson mode and free play. Lesson modes allow the children to experience their target sounds in the appropriate forms in relation to their level of progress. The fun mode allows them to play with words that are picked randomly. So, this game can be played just for fun too!

This is a good tool to incorporate into articulation therapy. It will provide children with an approach to articulation drills that is much different than the traditional approach. It will make learning fun and easy while keeping up with the child’s progress. This will give parents easy access to their child’s progress in therapy.
