eInstruction Products

When I went to the Georgia Middle School Association Conference in Savannah this past February, I was happy to learn that the presenters were encouraging the use of technology in the classroom. One presentation that I absolutely loved and hope to use in my classroom was the eInstruction Products Presentation.

Here is a little introduction to popular eInstruction products:

The Interwrite Mobi is the latest product. This pad has all the functions as the famous "Smartboards" but allows the teacher to walk around the room to monitor the students. Along with the purchase of the Interwrite Mobi, the eInstruction Interwrite Workspace software is included. This is a great education software that includes many resources to create interactive lessons. The Interwrite Mobi costs a

round $399. 

A good alternative to the Interwrite Mobi is money is a concern is Interwrite Pad, which costs around $280. The Interwrite Pad has all the

functions as the Interwrite Mobi, but it lacks the LCD screen. This isn't a major problem especially since the LCD screen is only necessary if another product is bought eInstruction's Classroom Response System. 

The Classroom Response System is a remote set that allows students to answer multiple choice questions that are asked verbally, paper, or on the screen. This would be a great addition to a classroom, however a class set of 24 remotes would cause nearly $2,000. Once the remotes are programmed to the Interwrite Mobi the LCD screen gives the teacher instant feedback of the students' answers and gives perecentage on the number correct and incorrect. 

Consider this...

Although the prices seem rather high, think about the students! The Interwrite Pads works like a smartboard, except that teachers can carry it, giving them the ability to walk-around the classroom. It also cost less than a smartboard. The software included with the pads is Windows and Mac compatiable, which is a great plus for me since I am a Mac LOVER! This would be a great investment for the classroom.

This is also a great piece of technology that encourages student participation. The pad could easily be passed around and is very durable.
