What's the tool? The tool I chose was Internet4Classrooms.

How can it be used? This website is an aid in helping educators use the internet effectively. There are several resources for educators on this site. Such as:

Grade level help from Pre-K to 8th Grade:Standards based links and our grade level "Skillbuilders" to help students practice, either at home or in the classroom, what they have been taught.
Links for Pre-K:Several large collections of links for PreK-12 teachers, students and parents.
On-Line Practice Modules: Step-by-step technology tutorials for learning applications commonly used in K-12 classrooms.
Assessment Assistance: Help your students prepare for annual assessments, standardized tests, and end of course exams.
Daily Dose of the Web: Web sites which provide new content on a daily or weekly basis.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of this tool?

Advantages: This site is full of useful resources for educators. As listed above this site can be very beneficial in utilizing the internet for your classroom. Another great advantages is that it is a free service. Teachers now have a place they can turn to that has some on-site help.

Disadvantages:If you are not careful with your searches you could end up all over the place. You can not to be specific or board when doing particular searches.

My Opinion: I came across this website earlier in the semester and have used it for activities in my placement. So far it has been pretty useful and haven't had any problems with it yet. I am eager to utilize it more once I'm in my own classroom. I think the links are good and all of their topics are on the money with educators.

The tool is a site called 4teachers. It contains several other technological tools and resources in order to assist both teachers and students.

How can it be used?

Helps teachers to integrate technology into the classroom by offering tools and resources to do so. Includes lessons, quizzes, rubrics and classroom calendars. It contains assesment tools and tips and also success stories about integrating technology into the classroom.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of this tool?

An advantage is the organization of this site. everything is very organized and clearly layed out. It is easy to locate and use different tools and resources. Another advantage is the abundance of information and resources present. These tools can really assist a teacher and make their job easier. A disadvantage could be the fact that in order to use most of the tools, you have to create a login, which could be time consuming.

Who is the audience of this tool?

The audience is both teachers and students.

I think that this is a very useful tool. It has alot of great information, and technology itself, but it also provides links to many other top technology tools. I definitely plan to use this site in the future, because the abundance of resources should assist me in getting the most out of my teaching.

The tool I chose to research was Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators. This website offers a variety of tools that are useful for curriculum growth.

How can it be used?

This website can be used for searching for websites that teachers may find useful in developing and maintaining their curriculum. There is a list of various subject areas that are linked to other websites. For example, by clicking on the "Mathematics" subject access link, you will find a list of very helpful websites that include lesson plans and other resources that can be very helpful for teachers. This website is designed to help teachers broaden their horizons while following their curriculum

What are the advantages of this website?

Some advantages of this website include that it is a free website, it has a variety of resources available, and it includes all subject areas. All teachers should be able to find this website very useful.

What are the disadvantages of this website?

One major disadvantage of this website is that it is very abundant in resources. There are hundreds of resources available which may make it overwhelming for some teachers.

What's the tool?

The tool I choose was Pete's PowerPoint Station.

How can it be used?

One this website there is Pete's PowerPoint Station, Greta's Games, and Hannah's Help. This website can be used by teachers to teach a lesson on any subject matter or for students to learn about any subject matter. The PowerPoint is already made and ready for a teacher or student to save onto their computer. All the PowerPoint presentations are free and in PowerPoint format. There are also interactive games for students on Greta's Games. Hannah Help provides homework help, research and skills and search engines.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of this tool?

Advantages: This site is a great advantage for teachers to use because they can spend more time focusing on the subject matter rather than creating a powerpoint. Also students enjoy PowerPoint presentations versus reading out of a book or overhead projectors. Also with this website if you have a Promethean board you can create quizzes and the students can digitally take them after viewing the PowerPoint.

Disadvantages: Some PowerPoint presentations are long and cover too much information that does not follow standards.

Teachers and students of all ages.

What's my opinion.

My field placement teacher showed me this site and ever since then I have taken advantage of it. We use the presentations for all subjects to teach out students. The students really seem to enjoy the presentations and seem to learn something from each one.

How can it be used?
This tool is so simple to use! All of the great resources are ready and available to click on. You simply go to teachnology.com and start your exploration!

What are the advantages?
FREE! They also offer free weekly email newsletters on updates for the website. There are thousands of tools that can be utilized in your classroom and are all readily available with just a few clicks of the mouse!

What are the disadvantages?
There are certain things on the website that is membership only. It cost $49.99 a year. Which isn't too expensive, but can be misleading with a lot of the stuff says FREE!

Who is the audience for this tool?

The audience for this tool is for mainly teachers. Parents could also benefit from this website if they wanted to try extra activities and worksheets at home. This tool is also great for learning teachers such as ourselves. We are always looking for great, easy, and free resources to take with us when we get our own classroom!

My Opinion:

I found this website to offer wonderful resources. They have organized the website to be so easily managed. The free lesson plans that they have offered are all split up into subjects. All the way from computing to Physical Education ideas are available to people who visit this website. Another wonderful tool on this website is the rubric generator! I thought this was such a nifty tool to have available when you need it. There is not enough room to type all of the generator tools they have. You can make a weekly assignment and use the weekly assignment generator. There was also Web Quest ideas available. I am not very familiar with Web Quest, but briefly explored it and found it to be helpful. This website is great to have on hand to help you plan the perfect lesson plans with all of your needed materials! I give this website an A+!
