I also did a little research to see if Nicole was actually attached to these projects at some point. At one point, this past fall, she was attached to Bel Ami (with Robert Pattinson), but ended up pulling out/being fired last November. Monte Carlo is a project Nicole was not only supposed to star in, but produce. And it’s still listed on Nicole’s IMDB page, so who knows? And as for the How To Marry a Millionaire remake, Nicole is still tentatively attached to that too, according to IMDB. But I hope that one doesn’t even get made. I love the original. Usher-We Are The World?

Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie are planning a massive 25th anniversary re-recording of "We Are the World."





The timing couldn't be better, sadly enough.

The duo is summoning lots and lots of talent from Grammy weekend to stay an extra night - Monday Feb. 1 - and come to the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. There, they will celebrate a quarter century since Ken Kragen, Richie and Michael Jackson organized the original "We Are the World" with Jones.

This time the artists invited include Usher, Natalie Cole, and John Legend. (Traduction en français à la fin de l'article)





But you can bet that more names will be added shortly and that all the Grammy nominees and participants will be asked to come as well. Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich will produce the event, which will then be turned into a video and single just like it was in 1985. Don't be surprised if Wyclef Jean joins in, along with Sting, Fergie, Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake and other distinctive voices.

It's hoped that as in 1985, everyone will "leave their egos at the door."

Originally, this anniversary celebration was to be held on Jan. 28. But when the Haiti earthquake happened, sources tell me, the whole deal changed. Now proceeds will go to Haiti relief. In 1985, "We Are the World," which begat Live Aid, raised money for Africa relief.

Le Hollywood Reporter affirme que Quincy Jones et Lionel Richie vont produire un nouveau We Are the World à l’occasion des 25 ans du single. Les bénéfices seront reversés aux victimes haïtiennes. Le titre devait a priori être chanté le 28 janvier prochain, mais, après le séisme, la prestation a été repoussée au 1er février, le lendemain de la cérémonie des Grammy awards.

Tell us how you got signed and a little about your relationship with Usher?

So, basically I was twelve years old and I was posting videos online just for my friends and family and other people started watching it and I started getting a lot of hits and views

Then a manager contacted me and ended up flying us down to Atlanta where I met Usher and was then flown out to LA and Memphis to meet with Justin Timberlake. We ended up signing with Usher at Island Def Jam.

He’s a great guy just as I met him I actually sang him my own song You Got It Bad. I was a little nervous but it was a lot of fun.

Well I don’t really know about it all I know is that they were going back and forth. So, basically I think Justin and Usher both wanted to sign me it was kind of like a bidding war, it was kind of like they were in a ring and Usher knocked him out so…

Have you seen J.T. since you decided to go with Usher?

I haven’t seen Justin Timberlake since the whole deal went down but I think he’d have no hard feelings. He seems like a really nice guy, he seems cool.

Usher’s New Look and the UN Foundation teamed up to empower young people to make a difference!

Usher has been very involved in helping Haiti since the devastation caused by the 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck the country last week. The singer is stretching his philanthropic arm farther, announcing his partnership with the United Nations Foundation to help the victims of the quake. Through his non-profit, Usher’s New Look, he is calling on young people worldwide to each donate $5 to help the United Nations emergency response in Haiti.



“If only 1 percent of the world’s youth population raised $5 each, we could raise $150 million to support the United Nation’s relief efforts,” Usher said.

“Disaster relief is an effort that can be ‘Powered By Service’ and young people can be key players in the effort,” Usher continued. “I’m challenging youth around the world to prove they have the power to have an impact on a humanitarian crisis.  I know that young people have the talent, creativity and energy to assist in supporting Haiti’s needs.”

Once young people raise dollars they can send donations of $5 or more directly to the UN Foundation for the United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) website or by check. Youth can also text CERF to 90999 to donate $5, up to five times. The Usher’s New Look website is also linking directly to the CERF donation page.

Young people are also encouraged to use Twitter and Facebook as an outlet for their fundraising initiatives.

The “Powered By Service” Twitter page will be used to recognize and track efforts. For each dollar raised, youth are being encouraged to tweet their efforts @powerbyservice to demonstrate their commitment.

"Si ne serait-ce qu'1% des jeunes de la population mondiale donnait 5 dollars chacun, on pourrait réunit 150 millions de dollars pour aider les Nations Unies à œuvrer en Haïti", a déclaré le rappeur dans un communiqué. Déjà très investi à travers sa fondation New Look, qu'il a créée il y a quelques années pour venir en aide à la jeunesse défavorisée (notamment en lui facilitant un accès à l'éducation et à la culture), Usher ne relâche pas son investissement et vient même de s'allier aux Nations Unies pour sensibiliser les jeunes à la situation en Haïti.
